Cocina Real: Authentic Mexican Cuisine in New Berlin, WI

Been here several times. The food and service s consistently good. Got here about about 5:30 and seated right away. Our server got us setup with water and drinks. A couple Margarita, that were oversized :) We always get the table-side Guacamole. Love the fact that it's made fresh, and you can adjust the ingredients. We like everything, with maybe a few more onions. Both entrees were good. The Lobster Quesadilla and Trio of Enchiladas. All came out quick, hot, and had great flavors. I was disappointed that the lobster on the Quesadilla as small shreds, as opposed to pieces. It looked like fake crab, but did taste like lobster. They have much of the standard mexican cuisine that you would expect. It's not especially inventive, but what they do serve is all very good.

Our lunchtime server was amazing! He was personable, helpful, and very attentive. You can't go wrong with the Margarita! Tableside guacamole is a must!!! So delicious!! It's our Mexican Dining go to!! Service is always quick!

We've been here twice, and both times, I haven't been too impressed. The restaurant hasn't been very busy on either visit, but the staff is friendly and helpful. There are a couple of notes on the front door--one mentions that some menu items have an upcharge and recommends asking your waiter for details, while another states that there's an additional charge for using a credit card due to processing fees. It's good to know these things in advance. I do wish the menu listed which items have an upcharge, but I assume the waiter would mention it when ordering. I ordered a "Create Your Own Combo" meal with one quesadilla and rice and beans since I wasn't too hungry (plus, I have a hard time resisting the free chips and salsa). The salsa is nothing special but does the job. We also ordered the Choridip, which was great with the chips and as a topping for our entrees. My husband got the steak fajitas. The food came out quickly and in generous portions, so we had leftovers to take home. Unfortunately, my chicken quesadilla was a bit disappointing--the meat was watery, which made the tortilla soggy. Overall, it's not a bad spot for the price, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Loved the fresh guacamole cart where they made it fresh for you at the table. Nice touch. It was delicious! Well worth the extra cost. Margarita was fantastic. Our server was great. She kept our hungry patrons satisfied with chips. Food was great and the desert was so yummy. Highly recommend.

Dropped by for some Mexican food. We were not disappointed. Not fancy, comfortable with good food at reasonable prices. Our server was juggling a number of tables but took good care of us. We got the table side Guacamole which was great. The jalapenos had some heat and the salsa had a unique taste. There were six of us so we had a wide variety of menu items including basics like tacos and enchiladas. Check it out if you are in the area.

The service was sparse, but very speedy! Once we ordered, the food came super quickly, but the server never came to check on us at all. The food was pretty solid. The tableside guac was delicious! The huge chimichanga had a ton of well-seasoned meat, but it wasn't very crispy. Others at the table liked their Gigante burrito and other burritos. The 2nd serving of chips they brought were fresh and hot, yum! (First was only slightly warm)

Me and my husband came here on a late Sat night due to the convenience of the area. I had the enchiladas and my husband the shrimp scallops dinner. It was sooo good. Lots of flavor, salsa was. About watery though. Guac was good! I like the authentic Mexican decor, music and food. The place was clean and I appreciate that it was not overly crowded. Will go again with my children.

This is the best most authentic Mexican food I've ever had!!! I took my husband here (He's from Canada) and he told me that he's never had Mexican food this good in his entire life
